Application must be completely filled out (no blank spaces).
Site plan drawn to scale showing actual dimensions and shape of lot, location of proposed pool and existing buildings, and driveway plan. Indicate how many feet structures will be from all property lines. May be drawn on legal survey paper.
Signed “Zoning Reminder” form (Zoning Resolution 808.10 C), below — must be signed by the homeowner.
Swimming pool fee: $150 (private in-ground) / $200 (community in-ground).

All applications must be signed by the property owner (not the builder). The only exception is if the applicant has power of attorney. Fill in your details on screen, then print and sign in ink — signatures must be original, not faxed, copied, or electronic. Make checks payable to Bloom Township.

Application for Swimming Pool

Per Bloom Township Zoning Resolution 412–414, all permits are conditioned upon commencement of work within one year of filing. If work has not been completed within 2½ years of issuance, the permit shall expire. Applicant has received a copy of Bloom Township Zoning 808.3 (Accessory Buildings) and agrees to comply.

Note: no water can be placed in the pool until properly fenced according to the Bloom Township zoning resolution.

Private swimming pools — Zoning Resolution 808.10

No private swimming pool, exclusive of a farm pond, shall be allowed in any residential or commercial district except as an accessory use, and shall comply with the following:

A. The pool is intended to be used and is used solely for the enjoyment of the occupants of the property and their guests.
B. The pool may be located anywhere on the premises except in required front yards, provided it shall not be located closer than twelve feet to any property line or easement.
C. The swimming pool, or the entire property upon which it is located, shall be walled or fenced in such a manner as to prevent uncontrolled access by children from the street and from adjacent properties. No such fence shall be less than four feet in height, and it shall be maintained in good condition with a gate and lock. Portable pools are exempted from zoning.

Zoning reminder

NO WATER can be placed in the pool until properly fenced according to Bloom Township Zoning Resolution 808.10 C, which states: the swimming pool, or the entire property upon which it is located, shall be walled or fenced in such a manner as to prevent uncontrolled access by children from the street and from adjacent properties. No such fence shall be less than four feet in height, and it shall be maintained in good condition with a gate and lock. Failure to do so can result in a zoning violation.
