JOB OPENING:
OCCASIONAL BLOOM
TWP. PART-TIME ROAD WORKER
To be employed on
an occasional basis when work necessitates as determined by Road
Supervisor or Board of Trustees. This is not a regular position for
Bloom Township and is not subject to benefits. There are no
guaranteed minimum hours of employment.
SUMMARY
Under direction of
the Road Supervisor and Board of Trustees, an employee in this
position is expected to operate complex heavy duty vehicles and
equipment which enables this department to construct, repair and
maintain roads, bridges and other public works facilities in
addition to snow and ice removal under the Township’s jurisdiction.
An employee in this classification must demonstrate a proficiency in
the use of a variety of manual skills, equipment and machinery.
Flagging and incidental duties may be assigned by the Road
Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs a
variety of skilled/semi-skilled activities related to the
maintenance and construction, snow and ice removal of all roads,
bridges and other facilities in Bloom Twp.’s jurisdiction.
2. Operates a
variety of heavy duty vehicles and equipment. Safe and effective
operation requires a high degree of training, coordination and
concentration. These vehicles and equipment may include, but are not
limited to tractors/mowers, etc. This employee must possess a
Commercial Drivers License (CDL) appropriate for the job functions
from the state of Ohio.
CERTIFICATES,
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum Valid Ohio
Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a safe driving record and
the ability to obtain any necessary endorsements. High School
Diploma or GED.
BACKGROUND
INVESTIGATION
Those employed in
this position may be subject to a background investigation including
criminal background investigation. Conviction of a crime will not
necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification.
DRUG/ALCOHOL
TESTING:
The employee agrees
to pre-drug and alcohol screenings as a condition of employment and
random testing during any time of employment.
Pay Rate: $10.50
per hour on a limited as needed basis
